Questions with:
Daze
Subject: Hoodlum, A Total Conversion of Urban Operations.
| ::
[ 1. Tell me about the mod you are currently working on.]
:: |
Hoodlum,
A Total Conversion of Urban Operations. This mod will convert
your Retail Version of Urban Operations into a Organized Crime
from the 1910's to the early 1940's. You will get the play a role
of Ellsworth "Bumpy" Johnson, Dutch Schultz, Alphonse Capone,
Salavtore "Lucky" Lucania, Louis Clementi, Johnny Torrio, and
George "Bugs" Moran. That's just to name a few. You will get full
historic jobs such as the St. Valentine's Day Massacre and many
other I don't want to say at this point.
| ::
[ 2. What type of features will "Hoodlum" include? ] :: |
A full campaign
with historic jobs (missions), new weapons such as the Thompson
Series and Colt early Series, new skins to make you look like
a well dressed mobster, new complete maps, retextured default
maps, a special history mode which you can play different game
modes such as bail a friend, cop hunt, The Untouchables, Purple
Gang and many others. All this with a new 'old time' style interface.
| ::
[ 3. What inspired you to create this mod? ] :: |
As I got
more skilled in modding I noticed that some people lacked originality.
After the release of Japan I figured out how hard someone can
work on a mod but just days later people would stop playing it.
I got the idea of making this mod since I have a passion for Organized
Crime, and I decided to make it since i was tired of seeing modders
make 'hurry up' mods. I wanted to make a total conversion such
as Japan, which is really what inspired me to do this. I just
hope my mod last longer in the computer of the community a bit
longer. I also wanted a challenge, and to make the best mod up
to date :)
| ::
[ 4. Tackling a total conversion mod alone must be hard.
Can you tell me some benefits, and downfalls to working
alone? ] :: |
Its very
hard making a total conversion mod by yourself. I'm sure if you
ask MMI he will tell you it would be if he worked alone. The mod
takes longer to do, and you must be skilled in every aspect of
modding. But one very nice benefit you get from working alone
is you have no one to hold you back, no one to get on your back,
and best of all. Everything goes your way.
| ::
[5. Will you be trying to create any new maps for Hoodlum?
] :: |
Yes, this
will be one of the hardest things I will come across, some people
seem to think you can just model it up and its done. But it's
A LOT more difficult then that, but of course I'm gonna include
new maps.
| ::
[ 6. When do you plan to release Hoodlum? ] :: |
This is something
I really don't know, and really wouldn't like to say. But if you
must know, I'm shooting for late February maybe even till April.
I don't want to rush my mod at all, that way people wont download
a huge mod then find out later they have to update it with a patch.
| ::
[ 7. What is the best RS/UO mod you have played in the last
month? ] :: |
Best mod
I have played in the last month. Hmmmm.. It has to be Tools Of
The Trade 2.0 (tott2). Even though it was a preview of the mod
and it was about 30% complete. This is by far the best mod I played
within the last month.
| ::
[ 8. What are your thoughts on the future of RS? ] :: |
In my eyes,
it's been a slow and painful death. I think unless RSE or the
RS community comes out with something new, we won't find our self
much into this series for long. I think the map plug-ins will
give us a boost. I just hope people will know how to use them.
| ::
[ 9. Fitz; Sexiest man alive, Child Prodigy, or King of
Kings? ] :: |
Hah... ya
sure Mr. Conceded.
