[ 1. What exactly is the random mission generator going
to offer? ] :: |
I assume what you are referring to is the Custom Mission Section that we
have added to the Main Menu. The reason I clarify is that a Custom
Mission is not entirely random, it leaves it up to the player
to choose variables, and based on those variables, play a mission
to their liking. The variables that we allow the player to choose
in this section are: game type, map, difficulty, & number of terrorists.
The engineers have come up with a great dynamic organizational
system that allows the game to search the players directory for
all possible missions, so that if missions are generated by other
fans and/or us in the future, they would be incorporated into
the section seamlessly when downloaded.

[ 2. Several new things are being introduced into the gameplay
such as proximity mines, medium machine guns, and tangos
throwing grenades. Do these elements provide a significant
change in gameplay from the style found in Rogue Spear?
] :: |
That’s our goal. They all add an interesting
element that wasn’t there before. Proximity mines will help build
up defenses if that’s what you’re after, machine guns will make
suppressing fire a more viable option in multiplayer, and now
that terrorists can be scripted to throw grenades, don’t believe
they won’t hesitate to put a grenade somewhere you don’t want
it!

[ 3. We have learned that the Amazon map is one of the five
maps from R6 to find its way into Urban Operations. What
other maps can we expect? ] :: |
I’ll tell you a couple that are pretty obvious & leave the last 2 up to
your imagination. The Amazon, Skyscraper, & Hotzone (Biolab) are
all in there!

[ 4. I was excited to learn about a new gameplay type I
have mentioned in the forums before called 'defend'. Tell
us a little about this new gameplay option. Will we be able
to play this in multiplayer? ] :: |
Defend is really a single player game
type. What we’ve done is given the player a starting location
(a base, if you will), and you have to kill all the terrorists
before they overrun your base. In some cases, the actual things
you are defending can vary (a denonation button, a hostage, etc)
but the gameplay is the same – keep the terrorists from reaching
their objective! They will throw grenades at you, come in swarms
or alternate attacking areas. Eventually, you’ll have to secure
the area once you’ve fended off their initial attack, and that’s
when they’ll ambush you!
