Omaha beach map v1.1 has been released, this new version includes several WWII era kit items. Pick the file up for your enjoyment right here. After playing this map on 3 servers, I have noticed that the server tends to crash and players tend to drop from the game. Lets hope this is fixed in the next version.

RS Dedicated Servers? ( 1 comments) [snicker, February 07, 2001 @ 11:07 PM CST]

After reading the R6 TakeDown site translated into English, here are some of the key features going to be added. The dedicated server talk is interesting but what is up with faster players? Hopefully we will learn more info soon.| . 23 maps chosen according to popularity ratings of parts of the country . Multiple and vast maps made for multiplayer games and construction of dedicated servers for multiplayer games . Vivid scenarios unfolding in Korea (?) . 15 new Korean characters . 100% Korean version and the abitlity to chat in Korean . Faster movement of characters . Neat and easy-to-use interface . A bigger arsenal thanks to the inclusion of weapons used in the Korean Army . Background music by Kim Joonsoun, who made the music for 'Bichonmu'(a Korean movie) |
Thanks Rokim from the RSE Forums for the translation.

After contacting RSE to see if we could get a little more info on this title, RSE is unaware of this particular title except for the fact that RSE has given Kama permission to create some more levels on their own. Looks like we will have to do some follow up with Kama. Is there anyone out there that speaks Korean? It sure would be nice to know what all the text on their site says ;-)

R6 Takedown ( 3 comments) [snicker, February 05, 2001 @ 01:22 PM CST]

Kama, the company who created the Korean version of Urban Ops (which included exclusive levels) is apparently working on a new title using the Rogue Spear engine. The project is called Rainbow Six TakeDown. Since I can't read Korean, I can't get the full scoop from their page but they do have a lot of good media on the page. Check out some screenshots here showing off the planned maps. Also, they have a 3d rendered trailer showing off some action and they also have 2 minute long in game movies from 3 of the maps!! The garden maze map looks really awesome. Check those out here.

I hadn't heard much about this but apparently on Feb. 6th EB World will start shipping the Rogue Spear Platinum Edition. We have seen every other combo of R6/RS series games so why not a RS combo. My guess is that it will be Rogue Spear bundled with Urban Ops. Check out the EB World link here.

You prolly notice the new button at the top of the menu to the left. To help our advertisiers more accurately deliver sponsorship to our site, this survey is being used to gather info. It is pretty short and only takes one minute to fill out. If you could take a minute to fill it out you would be helping out the 3d Retreat network. Thanks!

More R6 and EW Maps Confirmed for Rogue Spear ( 2 comments) [snicker, January 29, 2001 @ 03:23 PM CST]

John Sonedecker has been keeping a little secret from the public that has finally made the publics eye when a previously hidden folder in the official RSE forums was made public. John shared with a few community members that have been helping him with the plugins project that the will be making the following maps available for RS: * Congo * Oil Rig * Athelete's Village * Mint * All 5 of the Eagle Watch Maps * Maybe Wonderworld... So far John has released Mint so it appears we will be seeing the other maps in the near future if John is sticking to his plans. The thread was dated Nov. 8 and you can read it here.
